Best methods to lose fat and build muscle?

Well, I'm not fat, but I'm not skinny either. So let's get down to business. What is the best method of growing muscle and lose weight at the same time? Of course I can not go to a gym so please tell me the exercises require no equipment. I focused mainly on the stomach and arms. So please read and explain to me which are the best exercises to lose fat in my abdominal area and in my arms. Thanks!
